One-to-One Midwifery Support for Pregnancy, Birth Planning & Postnatal Wellbeing

Are you struggling to get the time and attention you need during your pregnancy or postnatal journey?
Are your appointments too rushed to ask your questions or share your concerns?
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unheard during pregnancy or in those early newborn days?

You’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate this alone either.

I’m Gemma, a registered NHS midwife and private birth trauma therapist, offering personalised midwifery support for women and families who want more time, more space, and more clarity throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care.

What I Offer

My one-to-one support sessions are tailored around you, your baby, and your needs—whether you're planning your birth, reviewing your current care, or just want to feel more prepared and confident. Together, we explore:

  • Your pregnancy and baby screening options
Understand your choices clearly with evidence-based information so you can make informed decisions without pressure.

  • Nutritional guidance and lifestyle support
Learn how to optimise your wellbeing during pregnancy and beyond with simple, practical advice tailored to your body and baby.

  • Birth plans and care preferences
We’ll review your maternity notes and current care pathway to help create a truly individualised birth plan that reflects your personal, medical, and social needs.

  • Anxiety or emotional overwhelm
I offer a safe, non-judgemental space to talk through fears or anxieties, especially if you've had a previous difficult birth or pregnancy experience.

  • Informed choices for pregnancy and labour
We'll work through the risks, benefits, and alternatives of various options so you can advocate for your care with confidence.

  • Signposting to trusted pregnancy and postnatal resources
From local doulas and pelvic health specialists to hypnobirthing, perinatal mental health services, and more - I’ll connect you with the right support at the right time.

Whether you’re early in your pregnancy, close to your due date, or newly postnatal, having quality time with an experienced midwife makes all the difference in feeling empowered and cared for.

Let’s talk—I’m here to listen and support you.

Postnatal Midwifery Support – Breastfeeding Help, Newborn Care & Emotional Recovery

There’s so much attention placed on preparing for the birth—but what happens once you’re home, holding your baby, and the questions start piling up?

  • Is this normal newborn behaviour?

  • Is my baby feeding enough?

  • Why do I feel so overwhelmed?

  • How do I know if my baby is unwell—or just adjusting?

  • Is this what breastfeeding is supposed to feel like?

In the early days and weeks after birth, reassurance, support, and quality time with a knowledgeable professional can make all the difference.

I’m here to help.

I offer compassionate, expert postnatal midwifery support for new mothers and families who need extra guidance, emotional reassurance, and professional advice once baby has arrived.

What My Postnatal Visits Include:

  • Specialist breastfeeding support
From first feeds to latch issues, I provide personalised, hands-on help with positioning, attachment, and feeding techniques, laying the foundation for a positive breastfeeding experience.

  • Postnatal emotional wellbeing & birth debrief
Space to talk about your birth story, your recovery, and how you’re feeling. We’ll build a postnatal wellbeing plan that supports your emotional and physical needs.

  • Newborn care and common concerns
I’ll guide you through early signs of colic, reflux, and what’s considered normal newborn behaviour vs. signs of illness. Learn what to watch for and when to seek support.

  • Referrals to trusted specialists
If needed, I can signpost or refer you to expert services like:

    • Pelvic health physiotherapists

    • Tongue tie assessments

    • Birth trauma specialists

    • Lactation consultants and infant feeding clinics

  • Support for hormonal shifts and recovery
Advice on navigating the hormonal rollercoaster post-birth, with gentle, holistic remedies, natural options, and emotional care to ease your transition.

Breastfeeding takes time, patience, and a lot of support. You don't have to figure it all out alone.

If you're feeling uncertain, anxious, or simply need to be reassured that you're doing a great job (you are!) let's chat. My private postnatal midwife visits offer warmth, wisdom, and space to ask all the questions.

Contact me today to book a visit and let’s make sure you feel as cared for as your baby.
