Because Birth Matters
Birth is one of the most significant experiences in a woman's life.
It shapes us. It stays with us. It influences how we see ourselves, our bodies, our babies and our place in the world.
Yet for something so profound, we often don't talk about it honestly.
We hear snippets. Headline stories. Birth plans and birth announcements. But many of the real conversations remain hidden.
The joy. The fear. The grief. The power. The disappointment. The healing.
The things women wish they had known.
The things they still carry years later.
Let's Talk About Birth was created to make space for those conversations.
What Birth Means
Birth is not simply a medical event.
It is physical.
Emotional.
Social.
Political.
Cultural.
Personal.
Birth sits at the intersection of how we understand women, bodies, autonomy, care and community.
By talking more openly about birth, we create opportunities for learning, healing and

Because when we hear a range of stories, we begin to understand birth more deeply.
Why This Project Exists
As a midwife, I have spent years listening to women's stories.
Not just the clinical details of labour and birth, but the stories beneath them.
Stories of strength.
Stories of trauma.
Stories of resilience.
Stories of transformation.
Again and again, I have witnessed the power that comes when women are given permission to tell the truth about their experiences.
